Njovu means elephant in Nyanja, one of Zambia’s official languages, the country where we began this journey. It has become our symbol, as it represents what conservation biology defines as an umbrella species. This means that, because elephants require large territories to carry out their natural behavior, by protecting them we are also protecting many other species along the way.
